Showdek's Child Safety Standard

Showdek prohibits Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE), Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), and any conduct or content that exploits, abuses, or endangers children. Users must not create, upload, request, distribute, link to, facilitate, or promote prohibited content or conduct involving:

  • Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE);
  • Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) or any sexual depiction of a minor;
  • Grooming of a minor;
  • Sextortion involving a minor;
  • Sexualization of minors;
  • Child trafficking or solicitation involving a minor; or
  • Attempts to evade child-safety enforcement.

Scope

These standards apply to Showdek profiles, posts, projects, clips, stories, comments, direct messages, attachments, links, collaboration rooms, and every other interaction or item of user-generated content. Showdek is a professional social and project platform.

Report a Concern

Users can report child-safety concerns inside the Showdek app from the relevant post, comment, profile, direct message, project-room message, clip, or story. Choose Report, then select "Child safety or sexual exploitation of a minor."

  1. Open the relevant content, profile, or message, choose Report, and select the child-safety reporting reason.
  2. If you cannot use the in-app report, email legal@showdek.com with the relevant Showdek username or content location and a concise explanation.
  3. support@showdek.com remains available for general support.
  4. Do not download, copy, redistribute, email, or attach suspected illegal material.
  5. If a child or another person is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. The Showdek app and email contacts are not emergency services.

How Showdek Handles Child-Safety Reports

A child-safety report is treated as an allegation while it is reviewed. Showdek distinguishes allegations and suspected violations from violations or material confirmed through an appropriate review. Showdek investigates child-safety reports and acts on confirmed violations in accordance with its published standards and applicable law.

  • While a report is under review, Showdek may restrict access to content or accounts when appropriate to reduce potential harm.
  • Following review, Showdek may remove prohibited content, prevent further uploads or messages, and restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts.
  • Showdek may preserve relevant information when required for safety review, legal compliance, or a valid legal hold. Preservation does not mean that the reported material has been confirmed as illegal.
  • Suspected violations may be escalated for appropriate review. Confirmed CSAM may be reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or the relevant regional authority when required by applicable law.
  • Depending on the facts, jurisdiction, and applicable law, an India-related matter may be directed through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal, the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C), law enforcement, or another competent authority.
  • The reported user is not given the reporter's identity.
  • Showdek responds to valid legal requests.
  • Showdek may cooperate with legally appropriate law-enforcement, child-protection, or other competent authorities when required or permitted by applicable law.
  • The appropriate authority and process depend on the jurisdiction.

Child Safety Point of Contact

Showdek's designated Child Safety Point of Contact receives child-safety notices from users, Google Play, and competent authorities, explains Showdek's public review and enforcement process, and coordinates appropriate action under these standards and applicable law.
