Our Community Purpose
Showdek exists so people can show real work, progress, projects, clips, launches, and professional growth. These guidelines apply to profiles, usernames, bios, posts, projects, clips, comments, images, videos, links, and other user-generated content.
Reporting Content or Users
Use Showdek's in-app reporting tools when a profile, post, project, clip, story, comment, direct message, or project-room message may violate these guidelines.
- Open the relevant profile, post, project, clip, story, comment, direct message, or project-room message and choose Report.
- Select the reason that best matches the concern and add optional context.
- You may also email support@showdek.com with the username, content location or appropriate screenshot, report category, and a short explanation.
- For child-safety concerns, follow the Child Safety Standards and do not send or attach suspected CSAM by email.
Safety, Violence, and Exploitation
Do not use Showdek to threaten, exploit, harass, intimidate, expose private information, coordinate harm, distribute malware, or encourage unsafe behavior. Safety reports may be prioritized when there is risk of real-world harm or repeated abuse.
- Sexual or adult content, sexual solicitation, adult services, exploitative material, or unsafe minor-related content.
- Violence, threats, graphic content for shock value, self-harm encouragement, or dangerous instructions.
- Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sextortion, trafficking, sexualization of minors, or any content that exploits, abuses, or endangers children.
- Illegal or restricted goods, services, instructions, transactions, or coordination.
Harassment, Hate, and Respect
Disagree without personal attacks. Do not target people with harassment, bullying, degrading language, hate, sexual harassment, unwanted contact, or coordinated abuse.
- Harassment, bullying, stalking, sexual harassment, targeted abuse, or encouraging others to attack a user.
- Hate speech, slurs, dehumanizing content, or discriminatory attacks based on protected characteristics.
Authenticity and Professional Conduct
Represent your identity, work, role, project stage, achievements, launches, and contributions honestly. Do not claim someone else's work, fake credentials, misrepresent project outcomes, or create deceptive profiles.
Keep posts, projects, clips, and comments useful for a professional showcase community. Critique work constructively, share context, and avoid spam, manipulation, or low-quality behavior that makes the platform less useful.
- Spam, fake engagement, repeated irrelevant posting, platform manipulation, or misleading promotions.
- Impersonation, fake profiles, false business/project identities, or pretending to represent Showdek.
- Misleading project, startup, work, security finding, funding, user, certification, or achievement claims.
Fraud, Security, Privacy, and Rights
- Scams, fraud, phishing, malware, deceptive links, credential theft, or harmful downloads.
- Copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other intellectual-property violations.
- Posting private information about others without permission.
User-Generated Content Rules
Users are responsible for the content they publish. Only post media, screenshots, code, logos, designs, clips, project assets, and written content that you created, own, are allowed to use, or have permission to share. Content must follow these Community Guidelines, the Terms, the Copyright Policy, and applicable law.
Blocking Users
Users can block another builder from a profile or interaction menu. Block controls are implemented across major profile, content, project, clip, and messaging surfaces.
How Showdek Reviews Reports
Showdek reviews reported content, account history, public context, prior violations, safety signals, and the seriousness of the issue. Not every unpleasant interaction is a policy violation, but content that creates safety, legal, privacy, impersonation, fraud, exploitation, or child-safety risk may lead to enforcement. Reports involving suspected CSAM or CSAE are handled under the Child Safety Standards.
Enforcement Actions
- Warning or request to edit content.
- Content removal.
- Visibility reduction or distribution limits.
- Feature restrictions.
- Temporary account suspension.
- Permanent account termination for serious or repeated violations.
- Retention of limited records when required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or abuse prevention.
Appeals and Contact
If Showdek takes action on your content or account and an appeal is available, follow the Appeals page to request review. General safety questions and report follow-up can be sent to support.
